Know anything about gemtone guitars?

Post by Lane Cunningham »

A guy down the road from me has been trying to sell a gemtone lap steel for a while now. I can't find anything about them on the Internet. Think they are good guitars for that price?

Definitely Japanese. Looks like some early Teisco steels, though the "HG" prefix is something that Guyatone did (Teisco steel models started with just "H").

The white control knobs are what Teisco used in the early '50's.
I have a 1953 Teisco D-8 that has them.
