I don't care what their label is, I think they are great. One thing I've always admired about them is they don't employ choreography, smoke, fireworks, etc, (ala Garth Brooks). They just stand there and make sure what is coming out of those speakers is something they can be proud of. Everything they do is rehearsed and nailed to the nth degree.

Yep, a really cool song. It sure screams for a steel guitar track! His next solo album is due out in September. I got to play some bender licks on it and Milo Deering (see Milo's Dixie Hoedown on YouTube ... killer) handles all the steel on Don's new record. I can't wait for it to come out.Joachim Kettner wrote:My favourite song for tonight:

Wow, Mr. Bowden...that is very cool that you were there in the mix at the beginning of that whole LA scene. This forum has some great people on it that I'm still discovering all the time.
I think the Eagles are Country Rock...especially on the earlier albums. I recall on the documentary that they began pushing toward a more rock edge with Felder asked to contribute more of that, and of course it was full blown after Walsh joined for Hotel California.
For the purposes of Country performance, I think much of their catalog can be nudged toward the Country side without much adaptation. It's all in the approach. Listen to "Common Thread: The Songs of the Eagles" an album of Country singers doing covers.
