I Play a Mullen RP SD10....is there a way I can effect a 1/2 stop (Raise)on String 5 "B" with the "A" Ped...(B to C) without actually adding any hardware...I already have tuneable 1/2 stops on Strings 2 and 6....but they have Barrel stops on the pull rods....installed at Mullen when they built My Guitar....But I dont want to have to do that.... if possible? I've just been holding if half way down by Ear...but its not always in Tune!!!!

You could try different slots on the bell crank or changer, but IMHO this is not a good idea. Half pedal use has been around a long time, and there are good reasons why a feel stop on a pedal isn't done. The smooth raise of both strings together is important to keep intact. Also the "bump" on the pedal will disable a smooth raise completely.
Keep practicing half pedal, or add hardware. A vertical or other lever to lower 5 (or 5 and 10) to achieve the C pitch accurately with the A pedal is the way to go.

| I was just getting ready to say combine the "A" pedal with the "X" knee lever to do that (or I think it will). |

If you have an X lever, add just one rod from the 5th string X lever bellcrank to the raise finger of the 5th string. Use the new rod to tune the A#, and the lowering rod nut to tune the C.

Hey Lane - i've been thinking about your suggestion regarding tuning this split . I'd like to try this. What I can't get my head around is whether the half step lower on the 5th string would lower flat when the X lever is used without the A pedal. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this before I flip the guitar over. Howard

If you do a search on the "extra rod" method, there are diagrams that make it simpler. The thing that makes it required an extra rod is that the tighter a string gets, the more changer travel is required to move about a half step. So the pull needed to lower from C# to C is longer than that required to lower from B to A#.
You can try this on your guitar: if you tune the X lever to drop the A pedal tone of C# down to C, you'll find that when you let off the A pedal, your A# is flat.
So you put an extra rod from the knee lever's bellcrank to the 5th string RAISE finger to pull the A# note back up. This rod has no effect on the A pedal note, because the A pedal rods have pulled it beyond any draw of the lever.

Yeah..My LKV lowers 5 1/2 tone...its pretty hard to Raise My leg and 1/2 pedal A at the same time!!! Problem is I have a Lick I play Going from G to C...3rd fret 1/2 ped A and Hit string one...then AB comb...works most of the time (in Tune!!!)

You don't have to hit the vertical AND half pedal.
Hit vertical and FULL pedal the A pedal.
