This is an old Red Rhodes Live album from 1969. I bought it from a fellow forumite, Bryan Bradfield. This album has a lot of superb playing from Red Rhodes and good backup from the band, The Detours. I particularly like the first four songs on the album. Has anyone here heard it?

The songs on the youtube version are not all in the original order. The first four songs are: DIVORCE, California Blues, Star Route, and Kentucky Woman. That's very much the way I would like to play when I'm more advanced.

I'm glad that you are enjoying the music Glen. My music collecting and accumulating and listening days have been slowing down dramatically. Fortunately, I am still playing occasionally. A vinyl album I guested on in late 2014 will be released shortly, and I recorded a couple of tunes as part of a compilation album of local solo artists a couple of weeks ago, projected release date unknown.

I posted a new topic entitled "New album with dobro backing" in the Steel Without Pedals section (http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=283630), which has all of the vinyl album tracks in their entirety in a digital download page.

Maybe Herb Steiner will comment. I know that he and Red were pretty close. I met Red a few times when he was working at EMI Guitars in Arlington Texas in the mid 80's. I came back and brought my albums in and he graciously signed them. He sure was a nice guy and had some great stories. I feel very lucky to have had that opportunity.

When I was stationed in southern Ca. I listened to "Cals Corral", on tv and occasionally I would see Red Rhodes perform. I believe that Cal Worthington owned the Palomino, I used to go there, met Jimmy Wakely there, remember the western movies that he was in, heck you never knew who you would see there. If Cal didn't own the Palomino someone please correct me. Thanks!
