Sold locally -

This 1983 Fender Super Champ - part of the last of the blackface-revival Fender line - is in absolutely stunning condition. There is one replaced tube - a Philips 12AT7 in V2 - but otherwise it's bone-stock with the original no-label EV (Electro-Voice) speaker. It includes the original Fender LED/2-button footswitch. This is the *original* hand-wried, eyelet board Super Champ - not one of the later PCB models.

One of the Rivera designs, it has usable master volume, 3-spring reverb, uses a 6C10 tube for multiple functions and puts out around 18 watts (it'll easily hold its own against a Deluxe Reverb with the efficient EV speaker).

There is a little grille shading from age; a couple tiny corrosion spots on top corners and two small, almost invisible (commpletely invisible when in use) mars in the botom tolex. It is about as close to mint condition as I would say (and I hardly ever grade something that high).

It's a small, slightly heavy (38.2#) powerhouse - a wolf in sheep's clothing that really packs a punch. A great amp for small club or home use, with a ton of headroom by design & because of the big-magnet/voice coil EV speaker. With master volume it can be warmed up at very low volume, making it a nice 6-string amp as well.

It's been used mostly in a non-smoking professional recording studio on a regular basis, and the electrolytic caps seem fine. I'm selling it for a friend - if it was mine I would probably perform a regular service on it because I just do on any untouched amp more than 20 years old, but I'm probably overly cautious.

Many of you know me as a long-time forum member and a straight talker - so you can buy with confidence. This is simply a great little monster of an amp!

Shipping will be actual UPS charges (no packing charge) from zip 90505, or fre local pickup on the Losa Angeles South Bay area. Payment preference is postal money order or bank transfer - if Paypal is desired the buyer will need to cover the fees.

This is a small, practical, relaiable tube amp that is steadily increasing in value, so you'll be very unlikely to lose money if you ever resell it!

There's not much else to say - I doubt anyone would be unhappy with this versatile little amp, and if you've been thinking about one I'd buy now befoe the prices really skyrocket (which amp pundits seem to be predicting).

Thanks for looking! Please email me with any questions.

Marty, that is a 10 in Jim's amp. I've read that those 10" EV speakers are very good.

I never got a reply so I looked him up in the White Pages. The lady that answered asked what it was about and told me he hasn't been there for around a year and a half. Hope he's OK.
