What is the chain for the Boss RV5 Boss DD3?Is the RV5 placed before DD3 or after? What would be ideal standard settings when they are both in a chain versus when they are used individually if there are such settings when they are chained? _________________ Shobud Ldg Shobud Pro 1 Carter Starter,Vegas 400, Nashville 400 Fender Deluxe Reverb Boss DD3 Holy Grail Reverb |

I'd put reverb last. To double-slap a reverb tail would sound kinda weird. There might be occasions you'd WANT that flavor of weird, but as a general rule, naah. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Here's the thinking: reverb, with its multiple echoes blending together, gives the aural illusion of space, because large rooms do this naturally.
There's bits of our brains that decode this automatically. This is why we usually put reverb after the volume pedal. Because if you're playing a solo with reverb, then spike the pedal after the end and the reverb is before, everything before the last note feels big, and then your last note is from the coat closet.
If you put delay after the reverb, the tail starts to decay, then boom, it comes back. A part of the back of your brain says "huh? Whut?" Because there are LOTS of regularly occurring rooms with reverb, but hardly any spaces with slapback. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
