I have two of these amps and both do this.
Playing at low volume, in the house, I notice that as a sustaining chord fades away, the volume goes up ever so slightly, back down, and then the notes disappear. It shortens the sustain on my guitar a bit and does not sound natural at all. I notice it more on the default JC CLEAN channel than the Black Panel setting on the LEAD channel.
It's not noticeable at all at stage volumes, just at a real low volume in the house.
Anybody else notice this? |

It should be possible to disable

I've noticed that on mine. Also, there is a very faint hiss on some of the effects as they decay...which makes the noise gate all the more noticeable. At one point I emailed Roland about this, and they didn't acknowledge that the issue exists.
It's really only noticeable at practice volume....I don't hear it on stage. It's such a great amp in all other respects, that I overlook this minor flaw. |

I find a bit of latency with the amp but no big deal. I made my Cube 80 into a head to use it with other speakers. Major project as the Cube is made from particle board and glued together.
A friend gave me a good idea for playing steel and guitar from this amp. I set the steel sound on JC clean and saved it to the SOLO channel then you can use the JC Channel again to use for guitar and just press the solo button and JC clean to go back and forth from steel to guitar. |

As I said, it's not noticeable at all at stage volumes, just at a real low volume in the house. I've stopped using the Cube for practicing here at home. It's kinda aggravating. I set up a different amp for home use. I take the Cube 80XL to band practice, though. I've played through two of them at some pretty large venues and all was well. We even played outside, out on a ranch, for several hundred people, no mics on the amps. They were plenty loud.
