I have had a few guys wanting to hear a clip of the Peavey Valve King amp and I have an MP-3 file that I would like to post, but I don't know how to do it.
Hope somebody can tell me that it is easy to do for a guy that is not into computers in a big way.
Thanks |

You would have to put it online somewhere and post a link to it, or email it to someone that can do it for you. |

Jim, thanks. Would it work if somebody wants to hear it to send me an e-mail and I could send it to them as an attachment to their e-mail when I respond back to them?
Or would I be running the chance that I might have 1000 e-mails to respond to? |

Soundcloud is kinda like a youtube for mp3s.
Or if you have a picture you want behind it (and a Google account, like Gmail, Google Plus, youtube or the like), go here
www.tunestotube.com/ and it'll make a youtube video of your mp3. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

I just tried to e-mail myself the file and due to my old computer and dial up connection, it showed that it would take about 40 minutes to up load it. I have no TV, so I can't "bundle" and get high speed. My dial up is free via my phone line. I would love to have a satellite dish for internet, but at close to $100.00 a month, forget it. My old clunker does what I need for it to do. I do watch a little U-tube at my brother's and it is a great luxury, but not a necessity for me.
U-tube will not work on my computer. I tried it once and left the computer on all night downloading. The next day, I had 30 seconds of video.
So Lane, thanks anyway, but my antiquated system will just not let me try what you suggested. |

George, email it to me overnight and I'll figure out how to do it for you. Email is e9c6zum at aol dot com
Alternatively, if you're near a public library, most of them will let you plug in a thumb drive. Copy song and picture file to thumb drive, go to library.
When I had no Internet at home, I used Mickey Adams and youtube at the library to learn licks: play video over and over, make handwritten tab of luck, watch more, drive home, play on steel. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Thanks for everybody's help. I sent the MP 3 file to Norm and he is going to help me out. The whole thing may be useless anyway. When I play it on my computer speakers, the volume is so low you can barely hear it and if you crank up the volume, it distorts. It sounded fine with my full size Audio Technica headphones. No point in posting it if nobody can hear it. Norm is going to see how it works on his computer.
As usual, my computer is just too old to use any of the stuff that has come out in the last 10 years. I have an iMac vs. 10.4.3.
Tony, when I downloaded SoundCloud, the first thing I got was a message "Your current browser isn't compatible with SoundCloud. Please download one of our supported browsers."
The system requirements were Chrome 35, Firefox 28, Internet Explorer 10, or Safari 6.
Next, it said "If you ar using an older browser or computer, you might encounter difficulties. So we recommend you keep things up to date. We do encourage users to use google chrome to have the best Soundcloud experience."
Then it says "To download the latest version of your browser, click the corresponding link below" And it gives links to Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari.
I don't even know what browser I have. That is how little I know about computers and the internet. I certainly don't know which one of the browsers to download and if it has any chance of even working on my old computer.
I think the computer skill level for me to get SoundCloud up and running is more than I can handle. And maybe because of an old computer, it just will not work.
Thanks for all the responses, just the same. |
