Ricky,
Don't give up yet. This is not a pity email, because I suffered from CT syndrome as well. There are some pretty easy things to try first that will help. Taking a break from your usual schedule is one of them, hard as it may be. I wore a mid-forearm length glove that prohibited the used of my wrist (has a metal plate inside). I slept in it for at least six months. It was hard to get use to, but after a while it felt normal, and I welcomed the relief it gave me from the pain of wrist bending. Go to a doctor (orthopedic) and get one. There is also surgery, which I don't know enough about to comment on.
Bottom line is take care of the problem. Your work is the best, but you are more important.

Has this carpal tunnel thing affected your golf game?
I'm not kidding folks, Ricky is a SERIOUS golfer who probably could have gone pro. Part of his income is golf instruction.

Thanks again guys for the encouragement; but my hands are fine with any and everything I do EXEPT fingertip pressure.
Steel pickin' hasn't suffered(well not that much..ha) Golf is GREAT and I am still dabbling in workin' on Steels...>Just not at the pace I tried to keep; that is too much for my hands...
If I take it nice and slow and a little bit here and a little there with lots of breaks...I can Do it without large pain.
Gary...>thousands upon thousands of hours > don't know never punched a clock; so wouldn't know where to start countin'.
And YEs that sounds like a great deal for that 9/9 D-10 Shobud.
Herb; Golf game is doing REEEEAL well; heck that's all I'm doing is hit balls everyday...and has not suffered one bit.

Well I can vouch for the fact that the ShoBud Pro II in question is not newly manufactured, as it is mine. The guitar is stil in transit from Ricky's, so I am anxious to see and play it. My dealings with Ricky and Ray have been thorough, courteous and professional. A model for all of us.
Ricky, give me a call about your carpal tunnel syndrome as I have expertise on 2 fronts:
1) I am a registered nurse, have been for the last 23 years
2) I had carpal tunnel repair on both hands ( I got mine from windsurfing) several years ago and I have had ZERO problems since then.
Thanks,
-Jim
