Listening to Mike Johnson on the Grand Ole Opry tonight was a great joy!
Mike plays in dedication to the greats that were
before us and incorporates his own while
paying homage.

These two gentlemen, Mike Johnson and Tommy White are two of the greatest players working today. So much talent, musicianship, and heart, and they are both very personable and humble despite being the top caliber musicians they are.

Holy Cow!
. Ironically I just got through watching some of the Music City Tonight clips of Tommy on You Tube. OMG ! Without a doubt, he is one of the most incredible steel guitar players to ever play the instrument. He is one of THE MASTERS. I'm so proud to have him as one of my dearest friends. Tommy thx for the nice words. Can't tell you how much it means coming from you. Thank you all for the kind words

As far as I am concerned, Mike and Tommy are the best pedal steel players on the planet, and also 2 of the nicest people on the planet.

Tommy, Mike, Paul, Doug, Buck, Lloyd....the list could go on of outstanding steel players from Music City. All wonderful personalities too. There is yet another Nashvillian at the Dallas Show this week who raised a few eyebrows - young Eddy Dunlap. He has it all and will be climbing the Nashville tree in the next few years.

Mike Johnson has the sweetest tone that I have heard from any steel player. Match that with his choice of notes and you have someone who is at the top of their game. I'm sick that I can't get to see Mike's band - 45 RPM - this year. They are something special.

Thanks for all the nice words! Everyone is so kind.
I just wanted to let you know that 45RPM will be playing in Nashville at The Station Inn on Tuesday night, March 17th. We start at 8:00 and doors open at 7:00.
Daryle Singletary will be with us.

Due to busy schedules we won't be playing again until July. You'll be in Traditional Country Music Heaven. Joanie ;-)

Mike just did steel work for Andy Byron's new Nashville CD. I play in Andy's hometown band here in Boise and will now have very big shoes to fill. Oh my.
