I have a DD3 & RV5 running off a GK MB500 and 2 - 12" Eminence speaker cabinets...thinking about Brad's black box......how would that help the sound of my guitar????

It will warm it up and liven it.
Its effect is subtle, but important.
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

I use a GK MB-200 into a 15" Eminence speaker & to me the Sarno Black Box helps warm up the tone.

I recommend plugging it in a couple hours before you start to play: it really does get better the longer it warms up. And a 12AX7 at idle doesn't burn much.

How are you using the DD-3 and RV-5? I have the MB 500 and have my reverb and delay running through the effects loop and it sounds much better IMO. The BB will be the icing on the cake and you can use the Vari Z as a tone control.

Yeah Len I am wired up the same way, but I sorta wanted a little different sound than I have....what I have is fine, but I wanted to 'tone' it down a little??

And a 12AX7 at idle doesn't burn much.
And seeing as it's operating Class A, it doesn't burn any more when it's running either!

True, but I was making the point that it doesn't really hurt to just leave it plugged in.
