Hi Will

I have Ballad Steel 1 & 2 which I have transferred to CD. If you do the same with the one you have, I will exchange with you?

I don't want to get preachy here, but doesn't anybody feel a little guilty about 'trading' copywrited material. I mean, it's not like anybody has gotten rich from selling steel guitar instructional material. IMHO if you get a copy for free of an instructional tape or CD, you really should send the instructor some $$. Am I out of line here?

Tell me what to send and where to send some money and I would be only too pleased to do so.

Well this is what I found on-line. Probably a good starting place to find Franklin materials.

Various cassette tapes on E9 and C6 in different styles.

Just to add to the info:
I just received, as a birthday present, a couple of Paul Franklin's speed picking courses that he has now made available on CD.
They came from an address in Goodlettsville, TN, and if you go to http://www.paul-franklin.com you can find an order sheet for those courses with the following address:

P.O.Box 1467
Goodlettsville, TN 37070-1467

Hey Thanks, I spoke with Paul's mother and she said those cassettes have not been available for about 3 yrs now, said the master's were not of the quality desired anymore. So still leaves me with the idea of finding them from a current owner who may be willing to part with them or share.

Thanks Again

I think Alan's info is the way to go. Goes straight to the source. The info I found was on the Carter site for educational materials, etc. But a bit dated, I'd say.

Auset Will said he had spoken to Paul's mother about the tapes, and that they were not being made anymore. You can't get much closer to the source of Paul Franklin than his Mom. You probably did not see Will's last post. steve

if it were me I'd just get a copy of the material any way I could and just send some compensation to Paul for this stuff. I took a lesson from Paul way back in the late 70s (maybe for $50 a pop) and the tape of that lesson was worth its weight in gold.......

Hey Everyone

I very much appreciate all of the response. But haven't come up with the material as of yet. Anyone who has this material if you would consider copying the material that would be great. I will ask Paul's Mom where to send a contribution toward the publication of the material that can be edited and duplicated or just ask Paul's Mom what she thinks is the right thing to do.

Again thanks up front for all your help

Regards
Will
