Hi Wiz :
Im having a problem getting window up date's on my Vista . Last week it was popping up-dates everyday.[i have mine set to let me decide to install them } now it says [ windows cannot check for updates ] Im using Chrome browser .

If you are getting them from the Microsoft website, you will have to use Internet Explorer... You can switch back to Chrome when finished.

Unless Vista is completely different from the other Windows versions that I have run, Windows Updates are done through the Control Panel, not a browser.

Thanks Scott..I have been using Chrome over a year and the updates just down loaded and waited for me to ok them ,no problem..but last week i had updates down load and install every day .i look back at them and they are all the same updates,.I closed Chrome and tried getting them from windows updates but no luck. I was using AVG free untill last and i bought the paid version .That could be blocking the updates i'll try turning it off & try updates again .

Thanks Jim .I have been using this Vista about 10 years with no major problems.I'll try turning off the new AVG and see if i can get the up dates.

I tried getting them through the control panel with no luck..but i'll keep trying.
