Does anyone use spade connectors on their pick-up leads for quick/easy change outs of pick-ups?

If so, is there a conductivity "down side" in doing so?

No, I don't.
Are you using males and females in line?
The only down side I can think of is I've pulled the wire out of one before. Might be inconvenient at a gig. Also the rolled edges will eventually open up. Not sure how many plug and unplug cycles they are good for.
I'm a big fan of spring contact terminal blocks for pickup wiring like Wago 260-301 and 260-361. They are modular, snap together and can be screwed down to a surface. One releases the spring tension with a screw driver or other blunt small thing, inserts the wire and lets off on the spring. The wire must be stripped first.
The 260-301 is in/out two wire terminal block. you would need two of these.
The 260-361 is and end piece with a screw foot. You would need one of these

Newark Electronic (on the web)
(2) 29K0075 $0.69 x 2 = $1.38
(1) 29K0105 $0.155 x 1 = 0.16
Use two #4 sheet metal screws to screw down to wood.
One could plug and unplug wires till the cows come home. They also stand up better than screw terminal blocks in a high vibration environment because of the constant spring pressure bearing down on the wires.

They also make a four section one, two across from each other so you could common four wires together. One can mix and match as many 2 and 4 section types as is necessary to interconnect various things. Maybe you need to attach a tone control for example.
