iPad Won't Play YouTube Video From Posted Link

My IPad will not play a YouTube video posted from a link here on forum. Just brings up error and says can't play video. I can copy and paste to YouTube and works fine. It used to work but quit about a month ago. This is an old IPad 1 I think. I just use it for surfing and reading mail while sitting in my easy chair. If anyone knows what may be wrong, would appreciate the help.
