I keep looking at Emmons guitars but I haven't seen any SKH's I keep hearing about.
Does anyone have the pics or specs so I can see the difference?

Is it in body length, or the tuning head assembly?

The difference is in the length of the key head....SKH = Short Key Head....

| John notice the Key Head on Billy's is about 4 frets long... And in this one, http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=280497 the Key Head is about 5 1/2 frets long. That is the difference. Some say one is desired over the other. |

Besides the key head being shorter, the changer surround is different than later LeGrandes.
This particular gtr also has p/p style pedals.

I've read somewhere that the SKH Le Grandes and and push/pulls used the same bodies.
For awhile they were both available, the p/p as the " Emmons Original".
True or false?

isn't the skh body shorter than the later models?
the bottom line is: go practice like tommy white did and none of this matters. |

OK, I see. Mine must not be an SKH as it is about 5 1/2 frets long.

yours is a Lashley Legrande ll a different model than a Legrande which is what an skh would be, not a Lashley Legrande. it's also not a push pull or a Lashley Legrande lll.

| Was the SKH produced to emulate the sound of a keyless? I've never played one, but, I've heard that they sound closer to a push pull. Im surprised, after all these years,that no one has produced a steel that sounds like a PP, except maybe a ProMat. |

it was produced to bring emmons into the modern all-pull world and introduced the split-tuning feature at the same time. |
