Bringing this beauty to the TSGA

Post by Mark Roeder »

I have always wanted to experiment with a stand that would allow you to play a "Gitsteel" in either vertical or horizontal positions, or in between. "Gibsteel" by Ram Guitars.

First you need a Gitsteel...

Mark, if you're going to be selling these, you should post in New Product Announcements.

Thanks for the tip Bob. I wasn't sure about selling stands since it is a very small group of players, it was something I've always wanted to play around with. I am sure that Ron would be willing to make more Gibsteels though.

Thanks for all the compliments folks, I am hoping to work it into the trio I have going with my wife. It has been many years since I have done much guitar playing.

Howard, remember when I mentioned this idea at the TSGA back a few years ago. It is fun to follow an idea through....and to see it look like it does, Ron did an incredible job.

I have dealt with both Ron Mielzynski at RAM Guitars and Mark Roeder with Deluxe34.

Both Ron and Mark offer the highest quality products at very reasonable prices. Their commitment to customer service is extraordinary.

Super cool! In that last pic, with the nearly vertical set-up, there appears to be nothing but gravity holding it there. Is that correct? I'd personally be nervous about stepping up to it and bonking my elbow into it causing it to tumble.

If I'm not seeing things again, there appear to be knobs on the bottom of each bracket. I wondered the same thing. Maybe there are threaded ferules embedded on the back side of the guitar?

Andy, I had Ron set some threaded nuts into the back of the Gibsteel to keep it secured.

Thanks Mike
Your support is truly appreciated. It has been a cool journey, talking to players, developing ideas. Ben Harper has one for his Asher, that's pretty cool!

I should post a picture of the very first one I made.....amusing to say the least

Those are Jason Lallor CCs. That is Ron's choice for his lap steels. I haven't had time to really check out how it really sounds, just a quick plug in. I'm too busy finishing the things I want to bring down to Texas.
