Carl Radle and Jimmie Karstein are well known, and their names are recognizable, but whose autograph is the one written with a pencil?

Yes, on the strength of his work alone with Derek and the Dominos, the Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour with Joe Cocker, and George Harrison, he is one of my favorite bass players. I didn't know about his work here with Gary Lewis. Very cool!

I knew Tommy Tripplehorn.
Carl was pretty famous around Tulsa. I only knew him through Jamie Oldaker.
Of course I've still got Derek and the Dominos,
such a solid bass player.

Do you know when that was taken, Joachim?

A bit of trivia, he is also the father of actress Jeanne Tripplehorn

Yeah, that was the shocker, although at the time,
Tommy didn't know that she was the Jeanne Tripplehorn either. She'd have been about eighteen.

He had a Steinway (I think) I took care of; my guitar mechanic friend and I'd go to look a the studio
he was building with Steve. Very affable fellow, enjoyed being at his house kind of friendly.
Had no idea of his almost-beach-boys past. Wow.

There were others there with more obvious roots, Jack Teagarden's son....

The photo was probably taken in 2013, when this article was written.

BTW, I scanned the back- cover of the Gary Lewis record. When I first saw it in a record store, I couldn't believe it. I bought for a few euros.

I'm so glad you found that article, Joachim.
In it are the woman I played with, Gus Hardin, and her piano player, Spencer Sutton, who is a dear friend for life.
Gus used to say he and I were joined at the hip.

Congratulations on the record find! Pretty rare.
