Topic: Half-tone stop mechanism for MSA |

I'd appreciate it if someone would post some close-up pictures of the half-tone stop mechanism that MSA used on their old Classic model steels. I have a friend who wants to add a half-tone stop (on his 2nd string), but can't "picture" in his mind how it operates.
The one I'm thinking about has an adjustable spring and thumb-screw assembly. The half-stop was tuned by reaching under the guitar and turning the knurled thumb-screw. Thanks, ...Tom |

Best half stop made I think. Got them on both my Emmons P/P's. I just used the cross bar on guitars instead of a bracket mounted to body. _________________ Henry Matthews

Lane l'm sure along with myself appreciate all the threads you have posted on the forum to help other steel players. Your video on the msa half stop was a superb demonstration, and explanation was very accurate and thorough. Thanks from all us steelers. |
