Will the double brackets work and be made available for existing Universal stands? Which by the way is an EXCELLENT product _________________ Clinesmith consoles D-8/6 5 pedal, D-8 3 pedal & A25 Frypan, Pettingill Teardrop, & P8 Deluxe. |

Damn. I was just last week thinking how nice it would be to have my Ric and Gibson together on the same stand.
This will become a regular production model? |

Very cool Mark! I can see where the ability to mount 2 very different steels together being a great option. You have the standard ability to have multiple tunings, but then also to have different and distinct voicings that you don't get with the more traditional 2 neck console. _________________ Some misc pics of my hand crafted steels

Thanks everyone. I am trying to get it to where I have a design that fits most lap steel measurements. That way I can make more than one at a time and keep the cost down. _________________ www.deluxe34.com lap steel stands, Clinesmith, Gibson Console Grande, Northwesterns, The Best Westerns

Just a thought, I wonder if two Universal style center brackets (opposing triangles, one for each guitar) would work with Universal style open ended neck and bout brackets. _________________ Clinesmith consoles D-8/6 5 pedal, D-8 3 pedal & A25 Frypan, Pettingill Teardrop, & P8 Deluxe. |

I am the guy who requested these custom brackets from Mark Roeder. Just thought it would be appropriate to finally chime in on this post, well after receiving these new brackets, and after a couple month "test drive," so to speak.
I play 6-string Gibson Century & Ultratone lap steels from the late '40s through the mid '50s -- the black ones, the blue ones, the white ones, and the blonde ones. I have 'em strung up in high bass A, A6, B11, C6, C#m, D9, E, and G (dobro) tunings.
The double Deluxe34 is just the ticket for flexibility in switching between multiple instruments in different tunings, almost on the fly.
These brackets were installed on my Deluxe34 "Streamliner" lap steel stand and have more than met my initial expectations. They are awesome; I would give them about a 12+ on a 10 scale.
All I can say is kudos to Mark Roeder of Deluxe34 for his willingness to work with his customers, and his ability to deliver an exceptionally high quality one-off product at what I consider to be a very reasonable price.
Thanks, Mark. |
