A friend gave me a early maverick with raised neck.but it needs work. I need new pedal rods, need 4 legs and the underneath needs new coat hangers or replace with rods. Would appreciate any help.

Michael Yahl or James Morehead could probably fix you up with parts. I may be wrong, but isn't the Maverick a pull/release changer? Switching to rods may require a new changer.

Jim Palenscar could turn it into a decent guitar, but it might cost more than it's worth.

Some guys are removing the undercarriages from Mavericks and using them as non-pedal guitars. That might be the best thing to do with them.

Since is was free, you might break even and have a Sho-Bud.

You really should call James Morehead. He has some interesting parts for Mavs.

James sent me some pictures of a "hot rod" Maverick he is working on.. Gumby headstock, wood neck, etc.. going to be a beautiful guitar and quite portable..

I would certainly call him...
