Fender Whiteface Twin Reverb (SALE PENDING)

Post by Ray Thomas »

Received this unit approx 4 months ago in a purchase of several items, it works good, one control has a slight click but works fine, the cabinet has a few bumps, was told by a friend who has knowledge of these amps that it is a late 70's or early 80's model, no data plate or serial number but a tube lay out is visible, has 4 6L6'es and several others, probably in the 12au7 family. Don't know if the speakers are original, both pyle but not alike. Don't know what to ask, think the price range is 400 to 800, think I would rather trade on a steel guitar, sd10 light model, an amplifier, again something light, maybe a Nashville 112, also looking for an Evans AH200. Hope I can make a deal with someone within 200 or 300 miles of 27534, Goldsboro NC, not interested in shipping. My email is rthomas17@nc.rr.com or phone 919-920-5482, anyone interested get in touch and lets talk

that would be a "silverface" model. dreaded master vol era. pyles are certainly not original, decent. a work horse amp for sure. the twins from that time are not being utilized much and are a good value. everyone wants small fenders like princetons and 40 watt models that distort and they bring a LOT more than the twins do. thats a mans amp! got to be a man to pick it up and put it in the trunk!

i used to play guitar in an organ trio. had a big archtop gibson and TWO silverfaced twins. huge tone!!
i sure would like to find a cheap blackface twin.

anyway your amp will make someone a good pedal steel amp. just dont use the master vol for distortion. it sounds like a large angry bee. ;-)

Neo Speaker

Post by Al Risbeck »

If you put an Eminence EPS-15C speaker in it, it will weigh about the same as a Nashville 112 and sound fantastic. IMHO. I have both.

Fender

AL, don't mean to question you but are you sure, I think there are three or four transformers in the Fender that will weigh as much as a 112, if this is true I will consider keeping it.

weight

The Twin with the EPS-15C is 8 lbs heavier than the NV 112 with with the original speaker, just weighed them both.
