new cases
I'm thinking about getting a new case for my D10. I've seen a few on the forum with the wheels mounted on the corners. How do you like 'em?
Can you set the case on it's side, hinges down? Does it get wonky like that? Do they travel well in a van packed all tetris like? I'd really like to get something sturdy that packs easy and has wheels. The wheels sticking out like they do, are they best for traveling solo? Would love to know if there are other materials or designs that are better suited. Would love to see some photos, if you got em.

Kevin Hatton's splits have bumpers on the hinge side, so that it sits even handle-up. I just wish it had a bumper on the lid opposite the wheels, as it doesn't stand on end.
I bet he's got a reason for its lack.
I LOVE the one my Zum travels in.

2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

I also love my Hatton case! Kevin does excellent work, and the result is tough as nails.Lane Gray wrote:Kevin Hatton's splits have bumpers on the hinge side, so that it sits even handle-up. I just wish it had a bumper on the lid opposite the wheels, as it doesn't stand on end.

Yea! same here. My Hatton case as well. Kevin does a great job to your spec's and the fit to instrument is fantastic. Kevin's prices are very reasonable too.Jack Aldrich wrote:I also love my Hatton case! I may, in fact, be nuts. However, I am screwed onto the right bolt... Jesus!
