I'm new at using Tabledit and I'm trying to write tab for my grandson to learn to play steel. I can't figure out how to insert chord names above the measures. Also is there an easy way to copy measures that are identical without having to enter it all again? Any help would be appreciated.

To add chord names (or any text),hit CNTRL + T. This will open a box where you can add the chord names. Do New - enter the chord name. Then I think you hit enter to add the text to the list. After you add the text to the list, select it, Then Hit insert (either above the measure- inside the measure- or below the measure). It will put the text where ever the cursor was before you hit CNTL + T. (so put the cursor where you want the text before you try to create a new text).

To copy measure, do Edit and then Insert measure. It will ask you the beginning and end measures to copy from, and another box ask you where you want to paste these measures TO.

Hope this helps.
