Maybe I'm getting picky but I notice the lower
5 strings on my u12 rattle alot since i put a new
set of BL's on. I was using GIT's and really did not
notice this as a problem. I am analyzing the string
guages to see if a dispairity exsists. its most noticeable on my 9th string.
Any thoughts on strings?

Yup! You probably cut the string off before you installed it, or rather... before you put a bend in it. If you don't bend a wound string sharply before you cut it off, sometimes the wrapping will come loose. That's what causes most "rattles" in the wound strings.

The thread talking about sized rollers has me wondering if the Mullen needs a set. The string rattle is absent when played open. If i push hard on the bar I can limit the buzz so i think I will change the offending strings for a set of Jaguar and see what
happens. I will bend the wound strings before I cut them just as I allways have done on my Tele. This could be a roller problem so we shall see.

My number ONE pet peave. Oh how I wish the day would soon come when adjustable nut rollers were in vogue.

Believe me it WILL come. The only question is, when!!

here is a funny thing....I stopped useing the 12 string
bar and went back to the old 10 string bjs. What a difference I can controll the lower strings much better with the shorter bar . so for now thats the ticket. Just getting used to the 12 string Uni string
spaceing and extra strings but its gonna be good.
