Walker stereo steel system

Post by Lynn Martin »

Thinking of possibly buying a w.s.s. setup. Would appreciate feedback ( good, bad, or indifferent) from anyone who is familiar with this system. Speaker choice? JBL, BW, or Weber? Thanks to all who respond.

Walker Stereo Steel

The Walker is a GREAT amp unit!

I have two rigs. One is a combo. The other is a preamp paired up with a Mesa Boogie 50/50 tube amp. Both sound clear and nice.

You can't go wrong with these. You can find them reasonably priced here on the Forum.

I've been using this system for about 15 years or more. I haven't had any desire to try another amp since I first plugged in to this one!!

I highly recommend them....great amp for all situations, can't go wrong!!

The best amp made in my opinion. And should you have any problems, you can call Gerry and he will walk you through the trouble shooting. He really stands behind his product.

It is a great system, I had two systems recently, BW 1501-4 speakers. Very versatile, tons of power.

I have the combo model. Good tone with versatile EQ. I deleted the effects unit and only run a simple Holy Grail Nano reverb unit thru an EPS 15C cab and when in stereo I use a Sica cab.

Great sound.

I love mine - use it on the road with Josh... Mine is just the Pre-amp, and I've replaced the effects (TC unit crapped out; now a Lexicon MX200), and I use 2 Nashville 112's (power amp in) as powered cabinets.

There is always tons of debate on solid-state vs. tube, but if you like solid-state, the Stereo Steel is the best of it. Tons of EQ flexibility.

Good luck,
