What's the deal with the foam?
Hello all, just a quick, possibly dumb, question: During my daily viewing of "steel guitars for sale" where I pretend to have money to upgrade to a better steel, I've noticed in some of the photos of the underside of certain guitars there is a chunk of foam in between the rods, sorry don't know the technical name. I'm just wondering if there is a reason that the foam is there?
Thanks
Thanks

When steels have leg extensions the angle of the rod to the pedal changes forward and can cause a speaking noise as the rod rubs against the front apron. You can use foam or tape to fix this. What's that speaking noise on the track?
