WTB Entry pedal steel

Post by Austin Garrett »

Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a good entry level PSG.
I used to have a Sho-Bud maverick but it had troubles staying in tune. Looking for something that is capable of playing some shows and more importantly something good to learn off of.

I have a pretty limited budget and would like to stay in the $500-800 price range.

thanks,
Austin

Thanks for the reply Ray,
I seen this one recently for sale, im hesitant to pull the trigger on that since i've seen two go for less than $650 in the past month.

I have located a carter starter for $750..

Is the carter starter comparable to the GFI or is the GFI that much better?

For the asking price of the gfi i think i could wait out and get a pro model. Am i in the right mind set or way off base?

Austin, I have owned the carter starter and the same gfi model that is shown, if these are the only choices I would dig up the extra 150 someway and get the gfi, just my opinion

Austin, I have a Carter Starter with a case. I have made solid lever stops on it which is a huge improvement over the original design. $700.00 shipped.
Thanks,
Jerry

Dang, wish i would have seen this earlier Jerry. I think i have found one. Someone offered me a fair deal on a stage one. I have read nothing but good things on this guitar and think its the best for what i'm trying to accomplish.
Thanks again everyone.

Austin, the Stage One is a very good choice. You will like it.

Excellent choice. I would have gone with the Stage one first and GFI second. Bob Simmons also builds a great guitar.
