Note how Basil sings the entire introduction to Lovely Hula Hands. Many people play and sing that song, but very few bother about the introduction, and that goes for most other songs from the time.

One of my personal favorites is this video of Basil singing "Little Brown Girl". Watch how Basil bounces around and plays effortlessly as he sings, and then goes into the instrumental break of a song which he has played for so many years he knows it like the back of his hand.

I'm sure Basil won't mind my mentioning that, as a child he was crippled with polio, and to go from an iron lung to complete dexterity shows a lot of fortitude and application. 8)

Thanks Alan, it's a pity that the sound (and performance) on that particular video wasn't better.. BUT I'm going to post on you tube in while Pat and my self doing the same song in a medley..It's different we're both singing it and Little Grass Shack and playing our matched pair of Hofner Jazzicas. We do enjoy doing it this way.

The post will come here when it's uploaded, HD takes a while even with 100mb fibre optic. >:-) >:-)

My lack of formal education and the reason for my lack of "people Skills" is that I was in an Iron Lung from the time I was 4 and a half up to 10 and a half: Reading text books and the like through a two mirror system, it was hard to attract the attention of the nurses in the common room discussing last night's dance so the pages were turned quite infrequently, I read most of them a few times.
Therefore I can say with confidence that I only know a little, but the little I know, I know a LOT about..

Turns out it's not HD so here it is complete with a very noisy audience. Sorry there's no steel but I am sitting behind one..

Yes, I'm familiar with that video, as I am with all of your videos. Now, what a shame you can't duplicate yourself and add a steel guitar in the background of that second arrangement. I guess with today's blue screen techniques a movie studio would have no difficulty at all doing that. 8)

Mighty fine performance; enjoyed very much.

Was that a long scale dbl-8 Jerry Byrd model?

What is the unidentifiable chrome stuff on the front panel nearest the pickups?
