Chrome or anodized hardware?

Mike what is the perceived difference between the two? Just courious as I have seen that mentioned several times.

One of the differences is that the earlier 400's with chrome hardware came with 1502 speakers which some consider to be better sounding. The later ones with black hardware came with 1501 speakers.

Also, as I understand it, some send the later black hardware amps to Peavey to get a "tone mod" that they offer for them. Others can chime in with more info about that.

One thing that should be mentioned is that the earlier ones, for all the hype they get, are now at an age where their filter caps might need replacing.
