New Clip of the Week 10/12/14

Post by Walter Stettner »

Good Morning,

Sorry for being a little late but I just returned from a weekend trip, with beuatiful fall weather.

This week's clip is a little different because I don't have the confirmation who the steeler is, although I have a strong suspicion. :) The track comes from one of those 1960s albums that didn't have any info on the musicians. Here we go:

Enjoy the music!

Kind Regards, Walter

Either that's Hal Rugg or somebody's really done their homework.

It happened again... bummer! Everytime Walter's clip starts to play, it stops after a few seconds the window freezes and I can't close it. Walter knows about this problem because I've e- mailed him. Has anybody else encountered this?

My guess, Hal Rugg and Margo Smith.

Hi Joachim,

Sorry to hear that the problem still comes up. It's still a mystery to me. I tried the clip again, also from another PC and everything works fine. The clips are always regular MP3 files. I am not a computer expert, so I can't offer any solution. Maybe you should download the clip and then play it from your PC?

Kind Regards, Walter

Walter, there'a a notification from Quicktime that I should update it, then right after it stops. Thanks for the reply. I will ask an expert.

It's so well played - I think it's Hal Rugg. Don't know the singer. Both Hal & Weldon tuned their 2nd string to C# and raised it to D with one knee lever and then to Eb with another knee lever. They didn't lower their 4th string. For them it was all about cutting hits.

I think we all agree that it is Hal Rugg on steel. The singer is Kay Tolliver who recorded several singles and one album (I think) for Musicor in the 1960s but never made it real big.
