These are pictures of my new MB-200 amplifier built by my good friend Jerry Bryan and assisted by Mike Shockly in Lufkin, Texas. Besides the GK MB-200 I bought an Eminence EPS 15C speaker from Kevin Hatton and the hardware from Reliable Hardware. The wood is cabinet grade oak and the tolex was donated by my pal Mike Shockly. I read on the Forum and had heard from Jerry and Mike the amp would take 10-12 hours to break in and I had that done in 3-4 days. The size of the case is 20x20x10 and the weight is about 28 lbs. account of being oak and built a little bit sturdier which I'm glad. The 28 lbs. is still great for my old back. Thanks to Jerry and Mike for all the help getting this project done.

| Looks great! Does the MB have a built in fan? I'd imagine those port holes help if it needs any added ventilation with the back piece closed. |

| Yes the MB has a built in fan. Jerry made sure there was enough ventilation to keep the unit cool. The back has enough area that the cord hangs out to allow quite a bit of ventilation also. ...I'm sending you a PM...jr |

| One other point of the amp head is that it does not have a reverb which is not a big deal with all the reverb and delay pedals for sale on the Forum....jr |

Guys, what makes the MB 200 such a good amp for steel? Midrange EQ flexibility?
I work out of a Peavey 112 and as you know zipping down the midrange makes all the difference in a steel tone.

I run my MB 200, Contour OFF. Treble 9 to 10 O'clock. Both Mid controls at 12 O'clock (and vary them slightly for the location and how new the strings are). Bass is about 4 O'clock.
When my EPS-15C was new, I ran the bass at max. Since its broken in (and it took 6 months) I backed off a little on the Lows.
My EPS-15C cabinet is partially open back, no porting holes in the front, so I have different response than a closed back speaker cabinet. My cabinet is the same dimensions as a Nashville 112 except 1" taller.
There are some sound samples on my web site. They were done when the EPS-15C and MB200 were new. I also have some samples with a 15" SICA speaker. Both the Nashville 112 and the MB500 were used.

| Enjoyed looking/listening to your website. Just one question though. Did you order the rosewood mica for the Franklin D-10 or did it just happen to be available for sale. Forgot, actually one other thing I was going to ask. What brand/type strings do you use on the Franklin? Thanks. |
