I just heard that Dickey Overby has passed away at 11:30 this morning. I'm sure some of the family or someone in AZ will be in touch with more details.
RIP Dickey you will be missed.

So very sad to hear of this news.
Another Steel Guitar Hero gone.

Dicky had his own style & he played it beautifully!!

We will miss seeing & hearing him but thankfully
his music was recorded & will live on.

Thank You Dicky for inspiring many steel players.
Prayers for all of his family & close friends.

Very sad. One of my absolute favorite steel players, period. His sound is perhaps the one that I (try to) emulate the most, it is so soulful - he wrung it out of every note. My prayers and condolences to his family and friends. RIP, Dickey.
