Emmons - owned by Herby Wallace AND John Hughey - more pics

This is a 1991 Emmons Lashley LeGrande that was owned by Herby Wallace and John Hughey. Two solid pieces of documentation to that effect are included. Here are particulars:

- The guitar was built for Herby Wallace and shipped to him on November 14, 1991.
- As a new owner, the original Emmons warranty information card was sent in by him to the company. He made a copy of that and it is included with the guitar.
- John Hughey played the guitar at the January 2011 (correction: 2000) Millenium Steel Guitar Jam in Florida and sold it after the show to an attendee who was first in line to buy it. He signed the guitar twice - on the front near the logo and underneath, along with the date of the show and sale. An original program from that show is included.
- It is in cherry mica.
- It is 8x4.
- It is 100% original.
- It has Emmons 108N pickups.
- It was built with large Grover tuners.
- It has the original Cush Case with it as ordered from the factory.
- It has 14-hole bellcranks.
- It is in outstanding condition. There are absolutely no problems or issues with this steel.
- I ran across the steel in Florida at a small music store and, since I was going through Nashville on the way home, I stopped by and showed it to Mike Cass. He put it on his bench and doublechecked and adjusted it while I was there. It plays perfectly.

Think about it. An Emmons owned and played by both Herby Wallace AND John Hughey AND serviced by Mike Cass. I'm really not sure how it can get much better than this. Herby Wallace did his magic on this pedal steel and John Hughey did, too. Surely, he played "Look At Us" on it.

John Hughey may have played that guitar but it wasn't in 2011. John passed away in 2007.

Not fishy. Eric is well known on the forum. The signature date looks like it says "2000" to me. Probably just a typo on the original post

Didn't know John owned this guitar but he was playing a Red Emmons with Vince Gill at Cowboys in Dallas and that could very well be it. Don't remember year, think around late 90's.

Oh, boy, what a dumb mistake I made.

John sold it in 2000, as the signature shows, not 2011. The back of the program clearly shows "2000" as the year of the steel show, too. I knew John passed away in 2007.
