Sneaky Pete album

Post by John Billings »

Wow! Was just upstairs looking for something, and saw a small stack of albums I'd bought years ago, and never played. Sneaky Pete, and the vinyl cover hasn't been opened yet. Fire up the Fisher tomorrow morning, and I'll listen all day! What a cool, forgotten find!

$45 for the reissue? Says the Shiloh copy is very rare. That's what I have!

That maybe, Chris. It's not a typical swimming pool picture. I guess he liked the blue color of the water.

Great, interesting arrangement! Trememdous orchestration! Do you know who did the arrangement/orchestration?

No, I only have another record by Jimmie Spheeris, where Sneaky plays on one track. That's why I got the idea to include him in your post.

Wow is right; what a find.

I've got two albums of his; they're too cool.

I bought that record out of the "Instrumental" record bin at our local record store "Off The Record" in Cranford, NJ when I was in 10th or 11th grade, prolly '79/'80-ish.
Nice to see it again. :)

That's funny Pete, I bought mine around the same time right next door in Westfield at the Music Staff. Both places are gone now but I used to frequent both, especially the Staff. Still have the record though :D

I still have that one around here in my collection somewhere. For those who want to check out Pete's amazing genius, seek out "The Legend And The Legacy" on CD, two or more albums worth of just astounding playing. I just can't figure out how he got all of that out of 8 strings. What a monster.

"The Legend And The Legacy"
That's the one.

Many fine musicians on it, including the forum's own.

It's an OK album I thought that Suite Steel was better with other steel artist too...
