Showing how dumb I am, what's the difference in the II and the III?

Quickly doing the math, I'd say "I".
But seriously, the Legrande III's have the counterforce mechanism to correct detuning, while the LG II's are your basic standard Emmons Legrande.

Terry, the only difference is that the III has the counterforce feature that eliminates cabinet drop completely. It can be on a single neck or one or both necks on a D10.
On a LeGrande II or any other guitar without the counterforce you depress a pedal and measure a slight drop in the strings not affected by the pedal. Put a tuner on your 4th string dead center it on "E", press your second pedal and you will see the "E" drop slightly. Opinions vary as too how important this is, I stated mine and deleted it. I have a LeGrande III and love it.

Thanks Herb and Jerry. I had no idea it had anything to do with cabinet drop. I'm learning a bunch of stuff I should already know since I been playing for over 25yrs. I just never took the time to get serious about it. but that's fixin to change!
