I liked that, everything meshed really well. I never seen a Harp played along with Steel, Very cool. Also liked that there were a bunch of cameras used to switch between.

No Malcolm, I will be at the State Fair of Texas for 24 days straight at the same time as the Irish show. Then off for my honeymoon with my new bride. No trip to the UK this year. Maybe next year.

This is a nice cross-over. Rockjazz with the unusual combo of pedal harp & steel. Have you seen my post about the duet I recorded recently? Also pedal harp & pedal steel

nice playing!
i am in these sorts of musical situations somewhat often in some of the jam-bands i play with, open modal grooves. you sounded hip and your pocket is great. definitely the most interesting part of this song.

rest assured, i will be stealing (ha!) all of these licks.

palm blocking? or pick?

thanks for posting

Thanks Jamie,
I think I'm blocking mostly with the picks, some with my left hand and some palm. Not really sure. That is a fun band and I will post more video as it comes back from the editor.

Great stuff ! Really nice playing.

For more harp and steel check out Chas Smith on
http://haroldbudd.com/the_serpent.html

Also Mike Nolan works very closely with a harp player from what I understand Smile

Keep up the good work.

From having been a producer as well as a player I reckon I know a fair bit about what works and what doesn't, but I'd never have tried putting a harp with a rock band!

Of course logic says it's just another plucked instrument amongst others, so why not? But the steel makes it - without that crucial bridge it could have been a jump too far.
