I recently purchased a used Mullen U12. It's a good guitar but I have a problem with the legs loosening up and then you can imagine wobble wobble. I find that the leg scew threads are smaller than the body thread to the point when they are not seated you can
wobble the leg as much as inch or so. When tightened all the wobble is gone but within an hour or so I have to tighten them up again. I have never
experienced this with any other steel I have played.
Any thoughts?

Scott,
A compitent machine shop can install Heli-coil inserts in the leg sockets, that will do it,if thats the problem.

As I recall, Mullen uses a different thread on their legs than the "standard" 1/2-13. You might try some rubber garden hose washers on the legs to see if they will provide enough friction to keep the legs from backing out.

Scott, if you contact Mullen they would probably give you a solution, or maybe some new legs. Jack

The leg problem is soon to be solved. The early 90's
Mullen guitars use a 5/8 thread not the standard 1/2
so Mullen has sent me the incerts to change the ones I have. i suspect someone wanted to change the hight of this guitar and without knowing got these
1/2' legs. Now all I have to do is pop out the old ones and knock in the new. Thanks for everyones input
