Does anyone out there use this pick up for steel guitar, and if so, what do you think about it?

Lots of players using Alumitone Bass Bar.I have it on my MSA MIllenium.Fiirst saw them being tried out by the late John Fabian of Carter quite a few years back ,and loved the sound.Tried to buy one back then, but John said they were purely experimental, and not ready for production at that point, now widely available and used on many different makes of steel.[img]

Carter w/Alumitone on E9. Lots of "bite".

I like it a lot.

Thanks to all of the gentlemen that responded. Malcolm I need a pick up for my 10 string lap steel. 1'd like to try the Alumitone Bass Bar on your MSA. Where do you suggest I purchase the lace pick up from and is there a item number for it?

That looks like a good offer from Eddie, failing that have a look on Ebay, quite a few on there, just type in Lace Alumitone Bass Bar pick up. Model is Tonebar 10.
