I want to thank Don for his hard work and dedication to making the sound just right for us "very picky" steel players.

I remember when Don first started this job. He was pretty scared.

I feel privileged to have been told by Scotty and Mike Brown (Peavey) to keep a watch over Don and not to be afraid to tell him if something needed changing.
Well it did not take but a couple of conversations and Don got it down pat. (This was before he hardly knew what a steel was ).

We have a lot of fun in the sound booth, but we all know why we are there. Make the STEELER sound good and make the very best recordings possible in a "live" situation.

Thank you Don Lanier and crew.
And it is a pleasure to share my chocolate with you!

I was glad that I got to stop by both the monitor and audience crew and offer my thanks for the great job the performed.
On stage, I could clearly hear the monitor and in the audience the sound was superb.

I have to give Props to first Mike Brown who I wouldnt be there if it wasnt for Mike and the Peavey Guys, I love the gear, and there input and what they do for Sound people, Peavey is and always will be my fav product....Bill Ferguson who is the perfect Mentor for anyone doing sound for STEEL...and those Wives who used to sit very close behind me, knee in my back and if something didnt go as planned that leg got a little closer....But To all of the steelers thansk for doing what you do, and letting us be part of your family....

Sure, Ron. The complaints from 2005, are not heard, now. I wanted to show how far the sound crew has come.

Hence my use of the phrase, "always a learning curve." I went back to 2005, simply because Herby Wallace was still alive, then...And Paul Franklin still played. I used to be on staff at a small steel show, and I almost always called Bobby Boggs, who declined. He explained, much better than I could, why he didn't care to play steel shows. And Bobby is a tremendous musician.

In short, I wanted to point out how the sound crew had improved in 9 years.
