In the many phone conversations we've had since you got my old guitar, Dale, I remember you mentioning once or twice how you'd love to have "heard the old girl in action" at one of our concerts.
Well, I think this might suffice for you ... when I was touring with Ty Herndon, we made our annual trips to Calistoga, California to play at the Napa Valley Fair for a show called "The Road" (a live satellite radio show heard live over 250 stations in 29 countries ... sort of a world-wide thing). We always had a great time doing that show.
Anyway, as I was going through my old tapes of gigs and concerts looking for more comparison things between the '90 Mullen and the '76 Emmons, I came across a final-mix board tape from "The Road" where I was playing that guitar you have now. Ty used to include an old Hag tune, That's The Way Love Goes, in our show and I thought you might like hearing the old '90 Mullen on that show ... so, here are a couple of tunes from that concert for you ... That's The Way Love Goes and I Know How The River Feels. By the way, this is the last recorded gig I did with that guitar before I sold it to get Gary Hogue's 1986 Mullen.

Thanks Jim...I’ve been waiting all night to hear these...I was at work and wasn’t able to listen to them till I got home...They both sounded really good...I really liked “Thats the way love goesâ€, I just thought it was a Johnny Rodriguez song...lol...Beautiful tone, clarity and expression...she rings like a bell...so whether she sounds as good, or better than your old 76 Emmons matter’s little to me...that 1990 to my ear sounds as good as it gets, and I’m happy I got her!!!...Now to practice and make me sound better...she’s awesome, I could use some work...

Danny, thanks for the nice complement...I’m sure Jim would love to hear from you...I talk to him several times a week sometimes a day, and he mentions you often...He thinks your killer on steel!...Anyhow it’s been a long time since I’ve seen you on the Forum, but nice to see you here again.Danny Dees wrote:i remember that guitar well. saw Jim play that guitar a lot when he had it. always wondered where that guitar went to. nice to see it in action again and being played. nice job on that video Dale!
BTW, Typing ain’t sooooo bad, it’s an acquired skill, just like playing steel...lol
