PSGs the pros played

Post by Gary Cooper »

This was my first time at the ISGC. Two surprises for me--- a lot of players usng the C6 neck. Second--The most popular PSGs played on the main stage were Zumsteel,Mullen, and Emmons. I did not see anyone play a GFI. I believe Mike Sigler plays GFI, but he could not attend.

Speaking of Norm Hamlet, the Emmons I was playing playing, I just recently bought, was Norm's natural birdseye maple mica guitar. It's a great guitar and still looks new for it's age.

If they have me back next year, I will try and incorporate more C6. I still have some changes to incorporate on that guitar and add to on the E9 and C6. I love the guitar and it just needs to be played.

I noticed two Franklins, a Fender Stringmaster and a Deluxe, one Infinity, three Derbies, an Epiphone Electar and a couple custom made non-pedal guitars on the bandstand. Also a Gibson Dobro.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

I believe there was a justice in one of the rooms. One guitar I was looking forward to seeing/test driving was a sho-pro--did not see one. I have played 6 string for 40+ years, i chose Gretsch when Chet played them, then Chets Gibsons when he left Gretsch. After Chets death in 2001 his estate has gone back to Gretsch. That said, i am new to PSG. I wonder if PSG players choose their guitars because of who plays them. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and opinions on this forum you have been very helpful.
