What speakers are you guys using for your MB200? Are any of you using 2 8 ohm 12 or 15's?

I'm using a 15" Eminence EPS-15C neodymium magnet speaker. My speaker cabinet and speaker are 23 lbs.

Allen is my Jensen as good as the Blue marvel? Like most players I'm always fussing with my sound.

The "Blue Marvel" is a Peavey custom Eminence speaker that is used in the Nashville 112.

James,
I'm sure your Jensen is a good speaker and comparable to the Blue Marvel. I have not taken the opportunity of comparing them side-by-side, however. I have Jensens in my 65 Reissue Twin Reverb. They sound good to me.

The Blue Marvel took about a month to break in. At first it sounded kind of stiff. As time went on, it started to sound real smooth. I am happy with it. I am sure a high-end speaker would sound better, but you can't beat the Blue Marvel for the price (+/- $70.00 new).

Jack, thanks for chiming in. I was not aware the Blue Marvel was an Eminence product.

My Jensen sounds real good. It was over a $100.00. It took a while to break in. Can you get Blue Marvel in 8 ohms? I was thinking of 2 12inch cabinets. That way I could stretch them out on a big stage. Is this idea any good?

The Peavey Blue Marvel 12" speaker used in the Nashville 112 is only available in one impedance. It is a custom model only used in the Nashville 112.

Everybody hears things differently or likes a specific brand of speaker. Many have changed the stock Blue Marvel speaker in the Nashville 112 for an Eminence EPS-12C. I tried it and didn't like it and took it out and put the Blue Marvel back in (and sold the Eminence).

James,
Yes, you can buy an 8 ohm Blue Marvel. Full Compass Audio (fullcompass.com) sells them for $79.99 (List price $99.99). Looks like the price has increased since I bought mine a year ago.

You may be able to find a used one for less. Try posting in the "Want To Buy" section of the Forum.

Jack,

Mine may not be a "Peavey" Blue Marvel. I'll have to look when I get home from work. I am not sure it says Peavey.

The Full Compass site advertises their 8 ohm speakers as the "Peavey Blue Marvel".

I just looked at the Peavey site. They list about 6 different Blue Marvel speakers.

The listing for the Nashville 112 does not list what part number speaker is used.
Only "12 inch Blue MarvelĀ® speaker (specially voiced for steel)"
