This happens to me every so often. While typing, I must hit some keystroke combination (by accident) that causes my display into full screen mode. No top or bottom windows bars. I keep trying some key combinations using ctrl and alt keys, but find nothing that works. The only way I have found is to start task manager and kill the browser (Chrome in this case). Any key combinations that would cause this? My keyboard has a full screen option by hitting the Fn (function) key and one of the F keys. But I know that is not what I am doing. Those keys would have to be deliberately hit together and are really not in the general flow of the standard keyboard keys.

For a lot of programs, F11 toggles in and out of full-screen mode. Next time the full-screen surprise happens to you, try pressing F11 alone, without any other Ctrl-Alt keys. (It looks to me like F11 would be easy to hit accidentally if you use parenthesis a lot.) HTH.

Thanks Michael. F11 is right above the backspace key. That could explain it.
