Are there "reasonable" priced hard cases available to fit my Regal D-40 dobro? I see cases on Janet Davis for these but they are in the $200 plus range which is above what I want to pay. |

When I bought a used entry level Flinthill a dozen years ago I had the seller buy a TKL case for around $100 to ship it in. Although I can't find that case online now, the big box dealers have a bunch of acoustic cases in that range. I have no idea how he went about assuring that it would fit but it does fit fairly well.

Obviously your biggest problem will be having confidence in the specific fit of your Regal. Hopefully someone here will have specific recommendations such as "a dreadnaught case will work well..." or something.. |

Here are some options. The hard cases are TKL.
Shipping is "oversized", so I'd call and get a quote.

That's out of my range.

What is the difference between a roundneck and a squareneck case? |

I've done fine with the $60 cheapo off musicians friend... Plenty of road miles in and no problems yet! _________________ Professional Accordionist, Amateur Steel Guitarist. |

Square neck guitars need square neck cases so that the larger neck will sit down properly in the case.

Jack, this size case seems to fit the R-body size dobros, at least it has for me:

You may need to modify/move/remove the little accessory box under the neck. Sometimes just flipping it around so the neck support is not next to the body will do the job.
HTH. Good luck in your search. _________________ "For every expert, there is an equal and opposite expert." -- Arthur C. Clarke |

Steve, thanks. Just what I'm looking for. I may pay the extra $10 for M/F's liberal return policy. |

I talked (e-mail) with the 23rd St seller. He confirmed it will fit a squareneck,so I ordered it. As it turns out the seller is only about 10 miles from where I used to live (Kansas City, Mo). |
