| I have one of the older Hilton volume pedals and lately it has been fading out and now has stopped working altogether. I am wondering if it might be the adaptor. The pedal is very old and the adaptor is wired right into the pedal. My question is will the adaptors being sold for the newer Hilton pedals work on the older models like the one I have. I can do a bit of basic soldering etc. if that's all that's required. Appreciate any help you can give me. Sincerely Nigel |

I'd talk to Keith. IIRC, his pedals are photo cell. You might just have a spider or web....

| Nigel I will try and answer your question. I used the Motorola power supply that attached to the pedal up until January of 2008. After that date I used a power supply that plugged in. It would take special parts and electronic experience to switch from the older power supply to the newer type. Here is why; Almost all ICs--"integrated circuits"-- use dual polarity with a ground. Why? Because this provides a positive rail and a negative rail, with a ground, as audio is not simply straight line DC voltage. The power supplies I used before 2008 converted DC voltage into dual polarity inside the power supply. The power supplies I used after 2008 only provide simple DC voltage. I then converted the simple DC voltage to positive and negative voltage-with a ground- inside the pedal on the circuit board. I do repair work on pedals. I just recently had Keith update 1 of my old pedals and he did an excellent job on it and works like a new new one. I really like the new style cord. You can't beat his great service nor his pedals. Jack
