These Chalker w/Newman sides were mentioned
over in the Jimmy C obit so I thought I'd dig
them out and digitize them so ya could hear 'em . . .

EDIT: Robert Kramer has sent in cleaner copies than
the scratchy ones I originally posted, so I've replaced
the links above with the cleaner tracks.

I took what Robert sent and 'panned' the steel
parts to 'center'.

Also added below are a couple of the solo's 'isolated'.

Thanks Robert.

Awesome. I didn't hear the turnaround in "Welcome To My World" coming! Laughing Smile

Joe Long surely said it right. You know it's Curly from the first note.

Thanks Russ.

Thanks for posting that Russ. You don't happen to have any of the music when Curly was with Mack Sanders do you?

Russ - Thanks for posting these great sides. I asked Jimmy C. Newman about "The Kind of Love I Can't Forget"/"Welcome to My World" (Shannon S - 808) and he remembered them and was very proud of these sides. He said it was Johnny Gimble & Rufas Thibodeaux on fiddles. The turnaround on "The Kind of Love I Can't Forget" is nicknamed "Bulldozer."

By the way Russ---you did a wonderful job playing bass on my set of the recent Terry Bethel Steel Show in Branson. As you could tell, I was having a grand old time, and I am not ashamed to play 4/4 E9th shuffle tunes. I tried to pick songs everyone understood. I think the audience liked Ernie Jackson singing Way To Survive and Brand New Mr. Me. Especially Brand New Mr. Me. "Do my children call you Daddy, is my honey good to you". Laughing
