I was also in Gulfport at the DSSG show and it was a joyous occasion. Joe, at first, got a little aggravated at the interference of his show until he got suspicious of the HOFers on stage.
He is definitely due to receive this honor.
Joe does a show that is entertaining to the not so musical with his exceptional comedy routine, and his quality on steel is realized by those who are aware of just how great his touch and tone are. Fantastic individual.
