Just a note of extreme gratitude to Rebel, Ricky and Jeff for the amazing tab/mp3 site...just done shedding "Above and Beyond" for an hour, using a slowdowner (I like The Amazing Slow Downer) to start off slow and then work up to speed. It is so great to be able to learn the classic solos this way-it saves hours of hunting and pecking for us newbies, and allows us to get some great vocabulary under our belts. You guys are the greatest, thanks again for furthering our education!

Their web site has been, and is,an invaluable resource for beginner and pro alike. Makes you wonder why no one thought of it years ago! Thanks Ricky & Jeff!!!!!

Larry, the slowdowner is also known as The Amazing Slow Downer from Ronimusic.com

There are others like it on the market, but this is the one I started with and it has served me very well. It's a downloadable $40 (free to try out) piece of software that allows you to put a CD in your computer drive, and slow it down even beyond 1/2 speed if needed, or speed it up a bit if you are insane, and transpose it via the pitch controls-you can tune the track to your steel if need be- and it has a loop function (GREAT!) which allows you to isolate a passage, over and over, while you play along until you nail it.

If this technology was around 25 years ago we'd all be at least 5 years younger today!

BTW I have no affiliation w/ Ronimusic, and there are others out there like Transcribe, Transkribe, etc.

I agree!
Thanks and Kudos to Ricky, Graham, & Jeff! They have made my transition from guitar/ dobro to pedal steel much easier.
