Need to raise the pickups on my 1955 D8, but the little rubber grommets have been compressed for so many years they've lost their elasticity. So, when I turn the screws counterclockwise, nothing happens. It just stays where it is since there's no "pushback" from the grommets.
Does anyone know of a source for replacements? Failing that, I guess small coil springs might work.
Anyone solved this problem? Don't want to reinvent the wheel. |

It's not grommets... it's surgical tubing. You can get it at hobby shops, fuel line for your bigger airplane engines. About a 1/4" piece works well, depending on where you like your pickup to sit. As I've written before, don't crank too hard on your Stringmaster pickups, since the cover and bottom wafer don't sit together. _________________ Too much junk to list... always getting more. |

Thanks, Stephen. A chunk of neoprene tubing hadn't occurred to me. |
